We serve the Rural Municipalities of Woodlands, St. Laurent, Coldwell, Eriksdale, Siglunes and Grahamdale.

The Corporation is a not-for-profit corporation run by a volunteer board of directors.

Community Futures West Interlake can assist you in the development and planning of your new business or business expansion.
 
Some of the support we can provide includes:
  • The Ins and Outs of starting a business. 
  • Assistance in developing a business or financial plan.
  • Analyzing your business and accessing industry comparisons.
  • Repayable small business loans, loan guarantees or equity investments.
  • We have an extensive libary of information about starting a business and we can access specific research on your business idea and sector. We have access to statistics Canada demographic information, consumer spending statistics and business/industry specific statistics such as cost of goods sold, mark-up, expected profit margin and average industry revenue and expenses.
  • Community Futures West Interlake is a regional site for the Canada/Manitoba Business Service Centre, and we maintain a comprehensive business library and client access to the internet.

Business Financial Support/Loans
 
Community Futures West Interlake is an alternate lender for new or expanding businesses who are unable to obtain loans through traditional means.
 
Investment Fund  
  • Repayable loans, loan guarantees or equity investments to a maximum of $150,000
  • Require a minimum equity of 10% in the business
  • Repayment terms up to 5 years with a maximum amortization period of 10 years
  • Interest charges of bank prime + 2% to + 4%, minimum base rate of 6.5%

Western Youth Entrepreneur Program - The program provides loans to eligible young entrepreneurs under the age of 30 years.
  • Repayable loans up to $25,000
  • Require a minimum equity of 5% in the business
  • Terms tailored to specific needs
  • Interest charges of bank prime + 2% to + 4%, minimum base rate of 6.5%
  • Open to prepayment

Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Program - The Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Program offers business services to people with disabilities or health conditions in Manitoba.  This program is open to anyone with a viable business idea who has a disability or a health condition. This program can assist in exploring business ideas, help with developing a business plan, market research and assist in accessing loan funds.
  • Repayable loans up to $150,000
  • Flexible repayment terms, designed for a clients specific needs
  • Require a minimum equity of 10% in the business
  • Interest charges of bank prime, minimum base rate of 5%  

Self-Employment Program

The Self-Employment Program assists eligible people to start their own business while receiving Employment Insurance benefits. Community Futures West Interlake is the delivery agent for Entrepreneurship, Training and Trade, Employment Manitoba for this program in the West Interlake and we can help you with your business plan and application. For more information on the SE Program, download the following Self-employment Overview for the West Interlake region.
